LOUIS, MO - idX Corporation, the store fixture manufacturing, logistics and project management firm that is at the forefront of the green retailing movement, has earned FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Certification for its Seattle division. Earning FSC Certification means that wood used in fixtures from idX Seattle can be traced back to the forest where it began. It ensures environmentally responsible forestry, processing and manufacturing of wood products. "To my knowledge, we are the first large store fixture company to earn the certification," said idX Director of Environmental Development Lisa Thompson, Assoc. AIA, LEED AP. "It is consistent with our strategy to lead the industry as a sustainable manufacturer." The FSC Certification process requires system-wide changes, including isolating the certified products, using special labels and diligently maintaining the chain of custody for each piece of wood used. "From a woodworker's perspective, sustainability is everything," said idX Seattle Divisional Vice President of Product Development Mark M. Clemens, who led the Seattle FSC initiative. "If we run out of raw materials, we're out of business, and so are our kids." FSC Certification provides a guarantee that the fixture's chain-of-custody has been maintained. That chain-of-custody begins in the forest and includes all successive stages of processing, transformation, manufacturing and distribution. To qualify for FSC Certification, idX's Seattle division was independently verified by Scientific Certification Systems, an FSC-accredited certification company. SCS examined idX's record-keeping and systems, certifying idX to work within the FSC system and label its products with the FSC logo. idX's FSC SCS Certification Registration number is SCS-COC-001441. Following on the heels of the Seattle division certification, idX's Louisville division is in the process of being audited for FSC certification. In addition to being the first store fixture company to receive FSC certification and the first to have a LEED-accredited environmental officer, idX has demonstrated its environmental leadership in numerous other areas, including: - Working with suppliers to require that they send raw materials and component parts using packaging that can be recycled and/or re-used.
- Establishing forums for raw material suppliers to present their sustainable products for utilization in idX products.
- Encouraging clients to utilize eco-friendly materials in their fixtures.
- Ramping up environmentally friendly practices throughout the company, including dramatic reductions in landfill tonnage, company-wide use of energy-efficient lighting, and eliminating the use of bottled water, plastic utensils and Styrofoam cups.
- Encouraging industry-wide involvement in sustainability through sponsorship of the idX Green Product Pavilion and the idX Green Product Challenge at GlobalShop 2008.

LOUIS, MO – idX Corporation, a worldwide leader in fixture manufacturing, logistics and project management for the retail, financial, hospitality and point-of-purchase markets, will introduce MagnIQ© to the U.S. market at GlobalShop (Booth #4023), March 18-20 in Chicago. MagnIQ© is a revolutionary system that uses metal panels and specially designed display components bonded with high-powered weight-bearing magnets. The result combines the flexibility and load-bearing attributes of slatwall with the sophistication and beauty required by designers today. “Without a doubt, MagnIQ is the most simple and flexible display system available today,” said idX Executive Vice President, Strategic Business Development Mark Pritchard. First developed and marketed in the UK by leading display company Rare Basic, MagnIQ© is now manufactured and sold by idX Corporation under license in the U.S., Canada and China. Many of the UK’s major retailers, including Austin Reed, Next, Asda, New Look and Principles, have begun using MagnIQ© for their merchandise display requirements. Since its debut in 2006, MagnIQ© has won 11 major industry awards, and was a finalist in the 2007 British National Business Awards. MagnIQ© is based on metal panels in a wide range of finishes that can be painted or covered with graphics, fabric or wallpaper. Components can be re-arranged or changed instantly and infinitely without drills, screws or hammers, leaving no damage to the panel surface. The ease and speed with which components are re-arranged also can result in significant labor cost savings. MagnIQ© display panels can support extremely heavy merchandise—weighing as much as 50 pounds—with some installed versions supporting weights over 150 pounds. In the past year, numerous new components have been developed, and the collection now includes multi-use fixtures with applications for almost every design market sector, from hotels and offices to art galleries and museums. LOUIS, MO – idX Corporation (GlobalShop Booth # 4023) has announced a major national awards program recognizing outstanding new eco-friendly retail store interior products or design solutions. The idX Green Product Challenge is open to all exhibitors at GlobalShop 2008, with entries on display at the idX Green Product Showcase. The winning product will be selected by show attendees--retailers, consumer products companies and retail store design firms—through interactive voting kiosks at the show. Attendees may vote for their favorite products at the idX Green Product Showcase on March 18. The company submitting the winning product will be honored at the A.R.E. Retail Design Awards celebration on March 18 during GlobalShop. The award, valued at $10,000, will include advertising recognizing the winning company’s contribution to sustainable retail environments and a donation to the environmental group of the winner’s choice. “idX has begun taking significant steps to lessen our impact on the environment,” said idX CEO Terry Schultz. “But we understand there is a massive amount of progress that must be achieved very quickly, and the challenge is too big for one company to tackle alone. We chose to take a leadership role by committing significant resources to encourage other companies in our market to join the green movement.” Doug Hope, Group Vice President of Retail Design at Nielsen Business Media and GlobalShop Founder, said idX’s environmental leadership will provide companies of all sizes the opportunity to be in the spotlight. “By recognizing outstanding eco-friendly products, idX will bring the industry’s attention to the best solutions, many of which may be very new to the market,” he said. “At the same time, much-needed financial support will be provided to a worthy environmental cause.” The inclusion of the idX Green Product Award in A.R.E.’s Retail Design Awards program is a timely addition to the industry awards line-up, said A.R.E. Executive Director Klein Merriman. "Our Retail Design Awards recognize the best in store design, store fixture design, and visual presentation,” he said. “We're pleased to also recognize the growth of the green movement in retail environments by including the Green Product Award presentation as part of our Retail Design Awards celebration."
